Tarr Family Eyecare

I would refer anyone I know or that asks about a good eye doctor to Tarr Family Eyecare! I had an absolute wonderful 1st visit February 2026 here in Newport, Tennessee 37821. I was made felt welcomed from the time I walked in all the way through to picking out my glasses. They sanitized everything right before I used any of the exam machines. Every staff member was very professional and very friendly also.They have a very big selection of frames at reasonable prices. So if you need an exam don't give it a 2nd thought and go give Tarr Family Eyecare a try. I promise you won't regret it! I saw Katelyn Yates, OD and was absolutely a blessing to me 😊

I am new to the area and live between Sevierville and Newport. I did not want to deal with Sevierville traffic. I searched and found Tarr Family Eyecare in Newport. Everything about the clinic was wonderful. My eye tech April was so kind, we carried conversation like we had known each other for years. Dr. Tarr was also very kind and attentive explaining everything to me in detail. Bonus part was they have their own eyeglass shop in house. I was able to select stylish frames and lenses super fast, and of course the staff was super nice. I highly recommend Dr. Tarr and this office. Thank you. Melinda Huser

I have really enjoyed my experience here and will continue to be a patient here. They play Christian music in the lobby. The techs and Dr. Yates are so nice and helpful. The office is very clean. Easy to find location. Always friendly when I call. Great selection of reasonably priced frames.

On November 19th of this year, I had an appointment for an eye exam at Tarr Family Eyecare in Newport, Tn. This was my first visit to this clinic, and I want to comment on the positive experience that I had there. Doctor appointments of any nature can be stressful but my visit to Tarr Family Eyecare was anything but stressful. The staff was kind and professional and made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. I felt that my exam was thorough and any questions that I had were answered without my feeling that I was “bothering” the staff. Dr. Yates took her time with my exam and explained everything that she was doing and the results of what she found. Tarr Family Eyecare is a small but top-notch practice, and I would recommend them to everyone.

The name says it all. You are treated like family from walking in the front door. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The nurse was friendly and caring. Dr. Tarr was very knowledgeable and friendly. I know I used the word friendly a lot, but that is the best description I could use.

The whole team is top-notch!! April and Rosie went above and beyond I cannot praise them enough. Dr Tarr was by far the best eye doctor I have seen in 20yrs. He was very helpful answered my questions and made me feel heard. I am blessed to have found Tarr Family Eyecare, thank you all!!

Top tier service! They have reasonable plan for anyone without vision insurance. And it was a very thorough exam! Dr. Tarr also explained everything in terms I could understand and was very kind and informative! The ladies in the frames/checkout area as well as check in area were friendly and helpful! Plus, they gave an after hours number for emergencies which gives me peace of mind. Very impressed!!

I am a new patient at Tarr Family Eyecare. The office is very pleasant and the employees are very friendly! They brought me back early. Dr. Yates was very thorough and reviewed my previous records from Florida. She answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend this off for any eyecare.
